In an Unremarkable Corner

DSC00904In an unremarkable corner, in a quiet temple in Phnom Penh I found this bowl of water with flowers floating on top.  There is something about these flowers that keep drawing me back to this picture, and I wanted to share it. Maybe it’s the colors, or the lightness in a dark space, or even just the shine of the waters on the petals, but I do need to remember to keep an eye out for the unexpected beauty not only when I travel, but in the places I pass every day.  I hope you have a lovely Wednesday and find beauty in unexpected places.

From Busan with Love,
Jenna

P.S. on Friday my school has a sledding field trip with our kindergarteners, so that is sure to produce some stories (they may not be beautiful, but I’m at the very least pulling for funny).

    • I don’t remember the place’s name, it’s an amusement park up in Yangsan, but I’ll let you know all about it Kristi after I go there on Friday.

  1. I really, really like this picture. It makes me go to a little happy place inside :-) . How odd that they were just sitting there in a bowl of water… they don’t really look arranged or anything. Just dropped in and left in the shade. So pretty-thanks for posting!

    • Thanks, I like it too! And anything that sends someone to a happy place has to be good! It was just one of those things that I thought was interesting in the moment and then looking back on it I really enjoyed the picture. Thanks again!
